Product Description
Working together with time-trial guru Andreas Walser, FOCUS's engineers have developed the FOCUS Izalco Chrono, possibly the fastest production time-trial bike in the world. Fitted with the top groupset, SRAM Red, it achieved great performances with both Team Milram in individual and team time trials and the FOCUS-sponsored triathletes in the 2010 season. The pros from ProTour Team Katusha are already looking forward to this new machine to fight for every hundredth of a second and victory in their battle against the clock.

Even lighter and stiffer than dropouts made of aluminium, FOCUS Carbon Dropouts are highly compressed and strengthened according to anticipated load
The use of high-quality carbon fibres means the FOCUS Izalco 2010 boasts improved levels of rigidity and is a whole 150g lighter. A newly developed processing procedure and a specialised resin enables crease-free and particularly smooth carbon processing on the inner frame. Despite the reduction in wall thickness the frame actually increases its rigidity.
Safety first: FOCUS don’t use high-modular fibres in the whole frame. In some areas, where required for security, endurance high-ductile fibres are used instead.
The entire production and quality control take place in Cloppenburg, Germany. The historical location stands for quality worldwide.
The frame’s tunnel – a cable conduit connected to the main cables – unites an elegant look with optimal practicality. This means more torsional stiffness and ensures that tricky internal cable replacement is a thing of the past. Less bending also reduces friction, enabling direct gear changing and braking.
FOCUS bikes have a hard life. To keep our bikes looking new, every frame is coated by an indestructible lacquer. The colour is applied to the electro-statically charged frames in the form of fine powder. The result is a frame of enormous toughness as well as scratch resistance and impact strength.
