Product Description
The best braking performance in a carbon wheel. Period.
Easton’s proprietary ThermaTec™ brake track treatment helps manage heat and provides smooth, consistent braking. This eliminates the pulsing, grabby feel found in other carbon wheels. Easton wheels with ThermaTec™ offer the performance of a carbon wheel with braking quality rivaling aluminum wheels. Our brake-test rig has been known to literally melt competitor’s wheels under braking forces. Sidewalls can flex up to 1mm outwards. EC90SL clinchers with ThermaTec™ were designed to survive this test. So far no other wheel has.
SUPERIOR RIM CONSTRUCTION. SUPERIOR IMPACT RESISTANCE.
This is the world’s most advanced carbon clincher. The entire rim including sidewalls is molded into their final shape—-no post-mold machining that would weaken the structure. In our rim-impact test a bare rim takes eight, successively harder hits in the same spot. The EC90SL clincher rim is the only rim to emerge from our brutal impact test and still be rideable.

CUSTOMER REVIEW!!
Favorite Ride:
Cape Argus Cycle Tour
Bike Setup:
Cervelo R3 (2011), Rotor 3D+, Aero Q-Rings, Dura-Ace, FSA cockpit, Selle SMP Evolution, Speedplay Zero Ti.
Summary:
Got these wheels the end of June 2010, to replace some sagging HED Jet 4 FRs that just couldn't stay together. These wheels are sturdy like my old Ksyriums, light like the HEDs, and true as can be after 5000+ kms. Mostly used on a 2011 R3, but previously on an S1 and P2. Rode these wheels on the R3 to a 50-minute PR at this year's Cape Argus, at 3:30:35.
Strengths:
They're quick on the spin up, hold pace nicely, and handle crosswinds much better than the HEDs. They're light, and while the braking surface takes a couple of rides to break in, it's now on par with any wheel I've ridden. Great looking and performing piece of kit. The price is great on these, also, compared to Zipp, Reynolds, and ENVE. I'm very surprised at how well they've held up, considering there are a lot of rough spots on the roads in our community. Completely true, without an adjustment!
